Sorry about the delay in posting! As you may have seen on the national news, the public school teachers here in Chicago are currently on strike. It's turned our schedule upside down a little and we're trying to get back into a somewhat normal rhythm. So, this blog got a bit neglected for the first part of the week. But now I'm back to working my way through our backlog of lunch photos!
I'm finishing up the last of our Labor Day Weekend trip photos with our food for the car ride home.
The boxes for the trip home are a combination of just simply packing things to snack on and cleaning out the fridge! I packed more than I thought we would need, just because some of this stuff was going to get thrown out anyway.
Here are our main two boxes...
The one on the left has ham sandwiches on party pumpernickel bread, wheat thins, cracked black pepper triscuits, a mix of smokehouse almonds and pistachios and in the last compartment, teddy grahams and mini nutterbutters.
The box on the right has our veggies (cucumber, red pepper, sugar snap peas and grape tomatoes) and ranch.
The last box has the rest of the fruit we had in our fridge from the weekend...
... grapes and blueberries, plus the last of the shortbread we bought for our drive-in snacks.
I'm so glad we packed these!!
They ended up being our lunch that day! Traffic was terrible that day and, at what should have been lunch time, we were stuck in a traffic jam.
We ended up getting out our EasyLunchboxes and having them as our lunch. We only had to stop for gas (and a quick bathroom break) on the trip home. Got to totally avoid roadside fast food.
