a beachy afternoon...

After our late night at the drive-in, we slept in a little on Sunday.  We went for an early lunch and then headed to the beach, for a nice relaxing afternoon in the sun and sand.

The kids love to bury each other in the sand...

 I don't quite get it myself, since I don't particularly like being coated in sand...

 ... but they enjoy it and it kept them entertained for quite a while.

All the digging and burying make them hungry, so I was glad we packed snacks...

It was basically just a repeat of our drive-in snacks from the night before.... trail mix and gummy bears.  But this time we had wheat thins instead of short bread.

There's a sneaky hand in my photo that was getting impatient with me and my camera :-)

And we also brought along another fruit and veggie box too...

Kept the kids fueled through about 4 hours on the beach!  It was a really great day!
